Cheree is committed to providing affordable Mental Health care to the local community.
If you have been referred by your GP or a Psychiatrist (and have a valid mental health plan with Medicare), Cheree will be happy to bulk bill your appointments (up to a maximum of 10 per calendar year) if you are a student, hold a health care/concession card, are a pensioner or if you are experiencing financial hardship.
If you work (and can afford to pay upfront) - the standard fee of $145 is payable at the time of the session (cash, card or EFTPOS) and Medicare will give you back $124.50 (usually overnight) resulting in a small out of pocket gap fee of $20.50.
DVA Health Cards (Gold and White) will be accepted as full payment with a GP referral.
Cheree will also do home visits for clients who reside in Aged Care Facilities who have a DVA Health Card, with no additional fee required.
No referral or need more sessions?
If you do not have a referral or need more than the 10 sessions provided under Medicare then Cheree’s standard fees will apply:
- Standard Fees are payable at the time of the appointment
- For a standard 50-60 minute appointment, Cheree’s fee is $145
- For a standard home visit, Cheree’s fee is $170
After Hours and weekend appointments
For your convenience, after hours and weekend appointments are available (including every alternate Sundays).
Home visits between Faulconbridge and Katoomba are available by special request/arrangement. If you have a valid/genuine reason for needing a home visit then Cheree is happy to see you at home and will bulk bill all home visits through Medicare if you are a pensioner, hold a concession/health care card or are experiencing financial hardship (as long as you have a GP referral/valid mental health plan).
If you work full time and can afford it and have a referral from the GP a home visit will cost $170 with Medicare returning $145.65 (resulting in a $24.35 out of pocket gap).
Home visits without a GP referral will cost $170 for a standard session. If you require a home visit, please call to discuss this and to organise a suitable time.
Cancellations on the day of the appointment and “No Shows” will attract a $45 fee - unless due to a genuine emergency (no Medicare rebate is available for this charge). If you are unable to keep your appointment please give at least 24 hours’ notice.
Appointment Reminder Service
We do provide a courtesy service that sends you a SMS reminder the day before your appointment (or a phone call if you only have a landline). Please note this service is a courtesy only, and you are responsible for remembering your appointment date/time.
