AfterHours Psychology is a Clinical Psychology practice located at Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains, which is owned and managed by Cheree Martin, Clinical Psychologist.
Cheree is a local and is dedicated to bringing professional, high quality, yet affordable health care to the Blue Mountains Community and is happy to bulk-bill Students, Health Care/Concession Card Holders and Pensioners (referred by either a GP or a psychiatrist) who have a valid mental health plan with Medicare (up to maximum of 10 sessions per calendar year).
Cheree is aware that a lot of residents who live in the mountains commute and they require after hours and weekend appointments, therefore she offers this service at no extra cost.
Specialising in depression, anxiety, grief, loss, traumatic brain injury, mental health in the older
person, anger management, stress, post trauma, general life and adjustment problems.
It is a mandatory requirement that all registered psychologists obtain 10 hours of supervision every year to enable them to continue to be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.
Cheree is highly trained and very experienced in using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has a warm, caring and friendly approach which will help to put you at ease.
People living in rural and regional Australia can now access a psychologist from the comfort of their own homes over the internet, via a video link using your web cam (called telehealth).

All people and all problems are unique. As such, Cheree does not use a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy and she will take the time to get to know you and tailor your therapy appropriately. She will select the most appropriate evidence-based methods, adapt them to your needs and assess how they are working for you over the course of therapy…
2019/2020 Bush Fire Crisis
Medicare have announced that for anyone affected by the current bushfire crisis, that they are able to receive up to 10 sessions per year (until 31st Dec 2021) without a GP referral. Normal session fees and Medicare rebate's apply.
My office has now reopened and I have resumed face to face sessions - however if you prefer - video link or telephone sessions are available until the end of March 2021. Normal session fees apply. You will need a referral from your GP to be eligible for a Medicare rebate or bulk billing (please note: bulk billing is only available to students, pensioners or health card holders who have a referral/current mental health care plan).
