AboutAfterHoursPsychology

AfterHours Psychology is a Clinical Psychology practice located at Hazelbrook in the Blue Mountains, which is owned and managed by Cheree Martin, Clinical Psychologist.

 

Cheree is a local and is dedicated to bringing professional, high quality, yet affordable health care to the Blue Mountains Community.

 

Cheree is aware that a lot of residents who live in the mountains commute and they require after hours and weekend appointments, therefore she offers this service at no extra cost.

Services Provided

Specialising in depression, anxiety, grief, loss, traumatic brain injury, mental health in the older
person, anger management, stress, post trauma, general life and adjustment problems.

Clinical Supervision

It is a mandatory requirement that all registered psychologists obtain 10 hours of supervision every year to enable them to continue to be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.

 

Therapy

Cheree is highly trained and very experienced in using Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has a warm, caring and friendly approach which will help to put you at ease.

 

Rural Telehealth

People living in rural and regional Australia can now access a psychologist from the comfort of their own homes over the internet, via a video link using your web cam (called telehealth).

All people and all problems are unique. As such, Cheree does not use a ‘one size fits all’ approach to therapy and she will take the time to get to know you and tailor your therapy appropriately. She will select the most appropriate evidence-based methods, adapt them to your needs and assess how they are working for you over the course of therapy…

2019/2020 Bush Fire Crisis

Medicare have announced that anyone traumatised or psychologically affected by the 2019/2020 bushfire crisis are able to receive up to 10 sessions per year (until 31st Dec 2021) without a GP referral. Normal session fees and Medicare rebate's apply.


COVID-19

Due to the Covid Pandemic - if you would prefer it - video link or telephone sessions are available until the end of March 2021. In addition you are able to access 20 sessions per MHCP (6+4+10) until 2022. Normal session fees apply. You will need a referral from your GP to be eligible for a Medicare rebate or for bulk billing (please note: bulk billing is only available to students, pensioners or DVA card holders who have a referral/current mental health care plan).
